Full Professor at Universtiy of Granada.

Francisco Herrera received his M.S. degree in Maths in 1988 and Ph.D. in Math in 1991, both from the University of Granada, Spain.
He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Granada.
He is the director of the Andalusian Research Instittute in Data Science and Computational Intelligence.
He has supervised 50 Phd thesis and published around 500 scientific papers. In the last ten years has been the principal research of ten research projects and twenty knowledge transfer projects with companies. He is the Editor in Chief of the journal Information Fusion (Elsevier, Top3 in Artificial Intelligence category, JCR).

Conference:

A European vision of AI will be presented, from a triple perspective: a) data based AI (machine learning and big data) at the level of research challenge, b) at the social level a commitment to responsible and ethical AI, and c) at the programme level a significant investment commitment with the new Digital Europe and Horizon Europe (2021-2027) programmes.

These three aspects will be presented and discussed current AI challenges in Europe, and their perspectives in this coming decade.
